![]() He is an apt fit for both the roles & looks great on screen(except for the biceps & triceps looking odd on a terminally ill person's hands) He has done a lot of home work for the film and that has rewarded him well. Krishnan as a person was lucky enough to have a successful love life but does that alone qualify to mark him as a "hero" in the eyes of his children? Will love at first sight work so good for everyone? The movie does not portray anything special to mould the character "Krishnan" to be accepted as a very inspiring personality though the word "inspiring" / "inspiration" is heard quite often in the movie. The movie revolves entirely around Surya- the father & the son. I also strongly doubt if it would reach all classes of people - most of the dialogues were in English. Anyone who closely watches his movies can easily synthesize a pattern but this one stands out from the rest. It is a beautiful composition but all along the movie I missed the "Gautam" stamp on it. ![]() Read somewhere that this movie is a tribute by Gautam to his father who passed away recently. Not all in the audience group will be able to relate the incidents quoted in the movie to the past situations in their own lives. It carries a simple, straight message - "Whatever happens, life must move on". ![]() Vaaranam Aayiram - An exquisite narration of a small, lovely, educated middle-class family life in Southern India.
